Our Food Philosophy At The Swan and Cemetery

Ninety five per cent of the fruit and half of the vegetables eaten in the UK are flown in from abroad – and air travel emits more CO2 than any other form of transport – damaging our fragile planet.

At the Swan & Cemetery we are doing our bit to reduce our carbon footprint. So we actively source all of our produce locally. Indeed, the quality of the locally-sourced, fresh, seasonal produce is at the heart of everything we do.

From the fresh-from-the fields vegetables to the choicest cuts from our local butcher, we can trace back to its roots every morsel of top-quality food cooked to perfection by our award-winning chefs.

And it's not just we who think we are the best when it comes to top quality meals: The Swan & Cemetery were the 2013 winners of the coveted Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence.

So when you sit down to enjoy one of our succulent, juicy steaks, cooked just the way you like it, served with fresh-from-the soil mushrooms, tomatoes, and chips or potatoes, you can relax in the knowledge that we are all doing our bit to preserve the planet's dwindling resources.

And you are in for a treat if you enjoy Black Pudding. Bury Black Pudding is rightly world-famous and we only use the best: the locally produced famous Chadwick's award winning Bury Black Pudding and we serve it with the Swan & Cemetery's homemade apple chutney or our Chef's own wholegrain mustard sauce. True local produce at it absolute best!.
